UPSC Civil Service Exam

UPSC takes the civil service exam every year. Every year, Million of Indian students take the UPSC Civil Service Exam but few students get success. Only 0.10 per-cent students get success in civil service exam. All India service and Central Service Group A is a part of Civil service exams. Prelims, Mains and interview are very dynamic. We love our mother India, and we all are undivided part of Mother India. Serving the nation as a soldier is proud and honour. Friends, if you are brave, strong, patriotic and want to join the Indian Army, then UPSC gives you a chance to join the Indian Army. UPSC conducts NDA Exam twice a year. Age factor is very significant for the NDA exam. The age required for NDA exam is 16.5 years minimum and maximum 19.5 years old.

UPSC conducts Combined Defence Services (CDS) Exam is twice a year to recruit officers trainees for the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy. UPSC releases the notification of CDS October and June, and the exam is conducted in February and November respectively. Only unmarried graduates are eligible to attempt the exam. Successful candidates are admitted into the respective Academies after an interview conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB).

UPSC IES Recruitment

Indian Engineering Service (IES) is one of the famous UPSC recruitments. UPSC conducts the IES exam once a year. A candidate must complete B.E or B.Tech before taking the IES exam. After selection, A candidate gets either Grade A or Grade B officer in various technical government departments such as Railway, Defence service, telecom etc. IES officers are responsible to deal with all technical issues. Even IAS, IPS or other government officers consult with them to solve a technical issue in the public area.

Assistance Commander (CAPF)

UPSC conducts Assistance commander exam for Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) once a year. Candidate must complete the required eligibility such education qualification, physical fitness and age limit. After passing all the exams of assistance commander, the candidates are appointed in BSF, NSG, ITBP, CISF and other Central Armed Police Forces.


UPSC conducted SCRA (Special Class Railway Apprentice) exam for Railway. This was an entrance exam for Railway Engineering College, Jabalpur. After passing this exam, The qualified candidates got admission for an undergraduate program in mechanical engineering in the Indian Railways Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. In this Program, Candidates learn railway engineering. After completing this course successfully, candidates are appointed on the post of Junior Engineer across the country.

UPSC Other Recruitment Exams

UPSC has a long list to conduct exams. Some government jobs require special qualification and skill. To fulfil this responsibility, UPSC conducts those exams separately. Only graduation degree is not required for taking those exams. Let’s have a brief study of those exams.

Indian Forest Exam (IFS)

Indian Forest Service is a part of all India services. UPSC conducts the Forest Service exam separately once a year. A candidate must have B.SC or Engineering degree to apply IFS exam. There is a physical test after passing the exams. Candidates get training at Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy, Dehradun.

Combined Medical Services Exam

Many government institutes maintain their hospitals and medical staff such as Railway, Army and other defence services. UPSC conducts combined Medical service exam to recruit Medical service staff Especially Doctors in those services. Only MBBS degree holder can apply for this exam.

Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination

UPSC conducts the IES (Indian Economic Service) and ISS (Indian Statistical Service) exam once a year. These officers are directly recruited to Indian Ministery. It is a technical support service. These services’ officers prepare or analyse data and prepare high-level reports. Indian government uses these reports and data to make a budget, tax norms, subsidy scheme and import-export norms. UPSC conducts IES or ISS exam once a year.

Geologists’ Exam (GE)

It is a technical service. UPSC conducts the Geologist Exam once a year. The officers of this service are recruited in the Geological Survey of India department. The officers of this department prepare reports of India mining and natural resources. Indian government uses these reports to use its natural resources efficiently.
